May 2021 Newsletter

Good morning,

After being missing in action for 5 months, I have finally returned!  Linda and I enjoyed our extended stay in Florida this winter and we are already planning to do the same next winter.  Having said that the members of Arnold Trail need to be thinking about electing someone else as President at our fall Annual Meeting.  I do not think it is fair or right to accept the Presidency when I will be gone half the year.  On that same note, Dennis Klipp, who has done a great job as your Secretary/Treasurer, also will not accept reelection.  So, the membership will be faced with electing new officers.  I know the election doesn’t come till October, but don’t wait till then, start thinking about who you want to take over these leadership rolls.

What is happening in May?

As in the past the ranges are open every Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. for skeet, trap, and 5-stand.  Steve and Molly Duren will be continuing to setup the 5-stand as they have done all winter – This has become very successful, thank you Steve and Molly.  During each week, usually on Thursday, depending upon the weather, Marty Taylor sends out an email stating which day the sporting clay’s group will be shooting.  This notice goes out usually by Tuesday.  If your not getting these notices and would like to, let me know and we’ll see you are added to Marty’s list.

On Saturday, MAY 15TH we will hold a registered trap shoot.  Shooters from other clubs will be coming to A.T. to shoot on field 4.  I would like to schedule a cleanup day May 9th starting at 8 a.m.  Plan to come early, bring your rake and shovel.  We do this every year to clean up the winter targets so let’s make our club look good for our visitors.

On Sunday May 16th we will hold our monthly meeting starting at 9 a.m.

On Sunday May 23rd we will hold our annual Modern Skeet Championship.

See you at the range –Jim McMullen
