2018 Year End Report

ARNOLD TRAIL SPORTSMEN’S ASSOCIATION
END OF THE YEAR NEWSLETTER
12/28/18
I want to start by thank everyone who showed up for the December monthly meeting and Christmas celebration – counting officers and members we had about 28 people plus two guests – this is the largest turnout in a long time for a meeting. I also want to thank the many members who supported the club’s Christmas Giving Tree and monetary gift to the Sidney Rescue. Thanks to your generosity we put a smile on 12 Sidney children by fulfilling their individual requests and we present the Sidney Rescue with a check for $600 to be used for training and equipment for cold water rescue. Thank you, job well done!!!!

Well, 2018 will soon be history! It has been a good year for Arnold Trail and as it comes to a close it is time to begin planning for 2019. On Sunday, January 20th we plan to shoot from 10 to 12, enjoy a potluck lunch at noon and hold our Monthly/Annual Meeting around 1 o’clock. I hope you will plan to bring a dish, enjoy the fellowship and stay for the meeting. At the meeting the nominating committee (Dick Perkins and Bob Paradis) will present the 2019 slate of officers and the names of two members to serve as directors for the membership to vote on. If you are interested in serving as an officer or director you should contact Dick (213-4177) or Bob (649-8594) by January 8th. This annual meeting is your opportunity to have direct input into those who govern A.T., our proposed tentative shoot schedule and needed work projects for 2019. The newly elected officers and directors want to hear just what the membership would like for activities in the coming year.

January is also that time of year to renew your membership in Arnold Trail. A couple dozen members have already renewed and the 2019 membership cards have gone out by “snail mail”. If you have paid your dues but not received the new membership card by the end of next week, let me know because I may have missed it – I’m getting old, you know! Around the first of February, the combination of the locks will be changed and I will start using the 2019 mailing list so ………..if you want to stay on the club mailing list and continue to have access to the grounds and facilities, better pay your 2019 dues! If any of your personal contact information has changed please fill out a new application so I can keep my records up to date. Individual dues are $40 and family is $60, any questions give me a call. I don’t send out dues bills, belonging to Arnold Trail is your personal decision.

At the December monthly meeting Dave Allen asked if another organization – Trout Unlimited – could use the club house for a place to get together on some Sunday afternoons to tie flies. He also said that if some of the A.T. members would like to learn to tie flies T.U. would be happy to make it a teaching opportunity. The A.T. members present thought it would be a good use of the club house so Dave said he would bring it up at the next T.U. meeting and get back to us. If interested, stay tuned!

Hope to see you on January 20th at our Potluck luncheon and Annual meeting.
Happy New Year! Jim McMullen, Secretary
